Thank you for properly disposing of your bagged garbage from your vacation! This helps us keep Paradise Valley a true paradise.
We know it's not ideal, however there is simply no garbage pick up (public or private) anywhere in the unincorporated county locations where you are staying. Residents and visitors alike all follow this protocol.
Instructions and Tips
1) We recommend taking a bag or two everytime you leave the house for outtings, dinner, etc. This helps ensure you don't have a weeks worth of garbage in your vehicle on check out day. ** we also know it's much harder to find these locations in the dark at 4:00 am when you are running late to the airport with a carload of exhausted travelers ... speaking from personal experience ;)
2) There is a garbage tag in the welcome book at each rental. Please take it with you when you take garbage, but remember to return it and LEAVE IT IN THE BOOK WHEN YOU CHECK OUT! We have to pay for replacement tags!
3) The "Green Bin" locations can be found on this GOOGLE MAP LINK. Choose the site (they are the green icons with a person throwing away garbage) that is closest to where you are or where you are headed and follow the directions.
The green bin locations will be an area bordered with chain link fencing and inside the fencing are green, blue or black metal trash bins. Some are just off the main roads, others are set back a bit. Use the google map to get you there.

4) The Green Bins are not monitored regularly by humans. Simply throw the bagged garbage in the appropriately labeled bins. They are typically open 6:00am to 7:30pm, all days except Sundays.
5) They are closed on SUNDAYS! Please do not leave bagged garbage outside the locked gates. If you depart on a Sunday and have a bag or two of garbage left, please leave the small amount you have at the rental home (inside) and we will take it for you on Monday. We do expect that the majority of the garbage had been taken on prior days, and we are not left with a truckfull to haul off. We simply don't have this capacity.
6) If you leave excess garbage at the rental upon departure, we will charge you for it. We thank you for your cooperation.
Why is proper trash dipsosal important?
There are many public health reasons that are obviously; but one of the easiest reasons for most of us to understand is WILDLIFE and BEAUTY!
Our wild and free area is teeming with roaming garbage hunters (bear, deer, coyotes, fox, raccoons and more). Leaving garbage not secured outside of a house is a guaranteed way to attract wildlife and sadly, hurt wildlife. When bears and larger animals become adapted to garbage, it often results in the animals being killed by cars in their quest for easy food or euthanized.
Improperly disposed of garbage gets blown by our epic winds and taints our beautiful landscape, diminishing that pristine Montana experience for guests and again hurting our wildlife.
Thank you for being a part of the solution to proper waste management!
