Imagine a lazy and scenic 10 minute drive off of the famed Highway 89 up to the top of a mountain. Once you arrive you find a beautiful, newly built home designed for taking in the majestic views of the Yellowstone River Valley and the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness mountain complex. We are certain you will run out of adjectives for your stay at this private, quiet beauty!
Looking for romance, adventure, family time or all of the above? The home has 2 bedrooms and a bonus space with 4 separate sleeping beds. An attached 2 car garage to park your vehicle and re-pack and reload your road trip adventure gear. The open floor plan is ideal for simple living with BIG views and the home has all the amenities you need for cooking, entertaining, and relaxing. You will finally understand what "Big Sky State" means after arriving at the Lookout Mountain Retreat!
The easy to use gas fireplace adds warmth and ambiance to the family room with large picture windows. The dining table and additional island seating seats up to 8. A small but beautiful bonus room has an additional TV and sleeper sofa. All appliances are new and high end with the shelves and cabinets stocked for preparing all your meals. If you don't want to cook, you can take the beautiful drive into Emigrant, the closest town and eat at one of the 6 plus restaurants within 16 minutes of the home (popular places are Chico Hot Springs, Sage Lodge and Spa, The Old Saloon, Follow Yer Nose BBQ and Wildflour Bakery to name a few).
Down the hall (all rooms are on one level) you will find a large laundry room, hall bath with walk in shower, bedroom with 2 twin size beds, and a primary bedroom with king bed and attached bathroom with shower and soaker bathtub.
The deck wraps around the house for eating or just sitting back and taking in the views. The property sits on 20 acres and overlooks the Valley. Feel free to explore and look for animal sheds, rocks, wildlife and more!
Things to note: The drive is to be taken slow and you will be on a sometimes bumpy and muddy dirt road for 15 minutes once you make the turn off of Hwy 89 South. The property is considered "remote" and you should plan ahead and make sure you have all the shopping you need done and gas in your vehicle. The closest gas and grocery is in Emigrant at the Emigrant General Store (11 miles).
Also, you will notice an entire lower level to the home. This is the owners private quarters. They are never at the home when the home is rented. You still have the property to yourself, but the lower level is for the owners only and remains locked.
For your convenience there is a keypad on the front door. Guests have access to the upstairs portion of the home (the downstairs of the house is locked off and for owner use only). The owners are NOT on premises when there is a rental. Guests also have access to the garage and all decks.
We are available for any questions and emergencies, but guests can check themselves in and out.
Remote! You are 15-20 minutes off the paved roads and 20 from the nearest gas and convenience stores! It is a safe and beautiful area, but please know you will drive on a dirt road through a rural "neighborhood" to get to the home. Neighbors can be seen at a distance, but you will not be close to others. Garbage service is not available at this location, there are several places nearby to dispose of your bagged garbage, a map will be provided.
You need a 4WD vehicle to access the property.

Paradise in Paradise Valley
Beautiful home with a spectacular view of Paradise Valley; highly recommend for Yellowstone National Park base and surrounding areas.
Only caveat, is the house is located 15 minutes up a winding well maintained gravel road from the main highway in Paradise Valley.- Anonymous from Stamford, Posted: 7/29/2024We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! The house is up the mountain and away from people, which is a bonus to most!- Key Montana staff, Posted:

If we could figure out how to move in permanently, we would! That view was breathtaking and the home offered everything we needed for the perfect getaway. We highly recommend this property!- Anonymous , Posted: 10/21/2023
We stayed at this beautiful home for our trip to Yellowstone. The views were amazing! We were able to spend 4 days in the park. If you have the opportunity, I suggest taking a tour with Yellowstone Wild. We were able to see and learn so much more about the animals and history of the park itself with the help of our tour guide, Matt. I definitely recommend grabbing any groceries and necessities while you are out for the day as it is a bit of a drive from the turn off from the highway to the house. The property management team was quick to respond to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Montana!- Anonymous , Posted: 10/14/2023
Absolutely beautiful home with the most amazing views, pictures don't even do it justice!! Very happy with our stay. Host communication was great and check in/out was easy. Would definitely stay here again!- Anonymous , Posted: 10/6/2023
The views are worth the price of admission, and the house was the icing on the cake. Everything was beautiful. Would recommend staying here, grabbing some goodies from Wildflour Bakery and adding a horseback ride at Chico Hot Springs to your itinerary. Loved everything about this place and the trip.- Anonymous , Posted: 9/29/2023
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Wonderful home, extremely clean, better than the photos. Definitely 5 stars!- Anonymous , Posted: 8/24/2023
The home is beautiful and clean. The initial drive in is full of anticipation because it is a longer drive than expected and winding but worth it. It was easy to get to Yellowstone. The bbq place in Emigrant Follow Yer Nose was delicious but call first. We drove there twice to find them not open, which was fine just fyi'. We would return to this property.- Anonymous , Posted: 8/19/2023
Incredible scenery and peaceful. Saw lots wildlife. House was very nicely furnished and comfortable. Kitchen amenities excellent. Cooked some great meals. A great launching pad to Yellowstone. Bedrooms very comfortable. Spectacular views from every window and the deck.- Anonymous , Posted: 8/12/2023
Great views, great location, great communication with property manager, plenty of wildlife to view from house, totally was a great relaxing trip!- Anonymous , Posted: 8/8/2023
The views are as advertised. Four wheel drive is needed to get up the mountain, but it really isn't that bad. Everything in the house is new and well appointed. We look forward to coming back again soon.- Anonymous , Posted: 8/1/2023
Loved our stay here! Such a gem; our family of four was super comfortable and loved the peaceful and serene surroundings. Would recommend as an easy place to stay to get to Yellowstone and would definitely recommend the Yellowstone wood boat tours that are offered as an opportunity. Great trip and stay!- Anonymous , Posted: 7/24/2023
This property is beautiful and I highly recommend it! Once we got used to the steep gravel road up to the house, we learned to appreciate the view from top. The house was clean, well stocked, and beautifully decorated. The next time we're here to visit the north side of Yellowstone, we'll stay here again.- Anonymous , Posted: 7/14/2023
We had a great stay at Brooke's house. The views of the valley from the house are absolutely breathtaking. The house was very clean, kitchen well equipped and comfortable beds in the bedrooms. Two of the adults from our party of six had to sleep on the sofa bed which wasn't the most comfortable, but worked fine. We used the house as basecamp to visit Yellowstone and after long days of driving through the park and being in crowds, it was a relief to come back to our mountaintop retreat. If you're looking for easy access to Yellowstone, this might not be the closest (and the long winding drive up to the house is a solid 15 minute drive) but the views and privacy can't be beat. Excellent stargazing from the deck and watching the moonrise over the Absaroka mountains- what a sight! We also enjoyed an afternoon at nearby Chico Hot Springs, soaking in the pools and had an absolutely amazing meal in their dining room. We would stay again next time we're in the area. Thanks Brooke!- Anonymous , Posted: 7/7/2023
My family and I came to Montana to celebrate my sons high graduation/ 18th birthday. He actually picked this cabin out- and boy did he knock it out of the park!! We have never stayed anywhere so nicely stocked, not to mention the views!!! We are from North Carolina, and Montana is a little slice of heaven to say the least. The cabin is reasonably located to many things- we went into Livingston for groceries, visited Yellowstone, and did some awesome local hiking. Restaurants- highly recommend Follow Your Nose BBQ (very close) and Montana Rib & Chop House in Livingston. We saw deer every morning off the porch, such a beautiful site. We would most definitely stay here again and hope that future visitors enjoy this cabin as much as we did.- Anonymous , Posted: 6/30/2023
This house is amazing! Stunning views from every room, beautifully appointed furnishings, and very comfortable. If private, pristine accomodations and beautiful scenery is what you want, this is the place for you! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, we will be back!- Anonymous , Posted: 6/20/2023
We stayed here so we could explore Yellowstone National Park. It was great having this quiet Mountain retreat to escape the crowds at Yellowstone. The house was comfortable, clean and updated. The Old Saloon close by in Emigrate had great good and cocktails. Would definitely stay here again!- Anonymous , Posted: 6/15/2023
Really enjoyed our stay. The house is very nice with spectacular views all around. Easy drive to north entrance of Yellowstone. A very beautiful relaxing vacation.- Anonymous , Posted: 6/7/2023
My sister, nephew and I were looking for a place near the Yellowstone North Entrance, but we wanted a remote area with an awesome view. We definitely found what we were looking for. The place was very clean and well-furnished. The beds were comfortable as was the living room furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was better stocked with cleaning and toiletry items than any we have stayed in. Our last five rentals have been mountain homes, but this view surpasses them all. You do have to plan your grocery buying and meals because many places close early or are very busy in Gardiner. Some of the reviews mentioned the driveway. We did not have a four-wheel drive and managed it fine. Of course, there was no snow during our stay. It is a long, winding road with a few steep places, but it is not the worst I have driven. We are from Louisiana, so the incline to us flat landers is very different! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a true Montana experience that is convenient to the park. We would definitely stay here again. Be sure to try out Follow Yer Nose BBQ!! We also had some of the best elk chili!!- Anonymous , Posted: 6/2/2023
The most incredible house! We stayed at the house for four nights and spent each day in Yellowstone Park. We 2 senior citizens brought our 2 adult sons ages 21 and 23. The house was perfect for our family. Extraordinary views from every window of majestic mountains. The house was spotless to the point where it looked like no one had ever stayed there. It was new and immaculate. Great beds and linens, and all the kitchen equipment one could possibly need. We cooked breakfast everyday and packed a lunch for the park. On the way back out of the park we stopped daily in Gardiner for dinner. It was nice to park in the garage of the house each evening. Really appreciate the bear spray. We carried it each day but did not need to use it. In the park, we were lucky enough to see hundreds of bison and babies, a black bear, pronghorn, watched a wolf kill and eat its prey, mule deer, badgers, a bald eagle, and elk. Once in a lifetime trip! Go! You won't regret it!- Anonymous , Posted: 5/26/2023
Our stay here was great. The views were immaculate, location was private & serene. House was clean & had basic essentials. Check in was easy. Had a book of recommendations for things to do & food suggestions, which we actually went to/tried & everything was great there too. ðŸ‘ðŸ»- Anonymous , Posted: 5/20/2023
